Our vision is something that many of us take for granted. Because our vision is so important to our everyday life, we must protect our eyes from infection so we don’t ruin our vision. There are many ways to prevent the spread of eye infection.

Eye infections are spread through the contact of eye drainage. If someone touches their infected eye and then touches something else, the bacteria from the eye drainage can then be easily spread to others who touch the same object. You can prevent eye infections from spreading to you and to other people.

If you are trying to prevent yourself from getting an eye infection there are several things you should and should not do. Don’t share eye makeup with another person even if it doesn’t seem like they have an eye infection. Don’t share contact equipment such as containers or solution. Avoid touching your eyes especially when they are dirty.

If you already have an eye infection you can do many things to prevent the spread of the infection to other people. Again, don’t share eye makeup or contact equipment with other people. Don’t wear makeup when you have the infection. You should consider replacing your makeup once the infection is gone. If you wear contacts, you should not wear them until the infection is gone and should then replace the case. Do not share eye medication with anyone else and wash your hands before and after using eye medication. It is a good idea to wear eye protection when in the wind, heat, or cold in order to prevent eye irritation.

There are many precautions you can take to prevent the spread of eye infection. Basically, don’t share anything eye related with anyone else. If you already have an eye infection, avoid touching your eyes then touching another object. Be cautious when you have an eye infection so that it doesn’t spread to the other eye or other people.
