The extent of eye care that an individual should take and follow depends on his or her daily life style. If you spend many hours in a day sitting in front of a computer screen and if you do nothing but stare at it all the time, then you will have to take care of your eyes with more seriousness as compared to an ordinary individual.

On the other hand, if you are an athlete who is constantly exposed to dust, heat and light, you will have to take care of your eyes differently. Any person who says that eyes do not feel exhaustion or do not react to stimuli is lying. How many times have you felt heaviness in your head after staring at the computer for a very long time?

How many times has the problem gone away once you took a short nap? Many persons presume that the nap did the trick. Rather, shutting the eyes and blocking it from light is the reason why the heaviness in the head goes away.

Hence, it is important to understand that we carry out many eye care activities even in our daily schedule. The thing is that we never realize that we are taking care of our eyes when we give it a good scrub when washing our face or when we massage gently after doing a lot of work.

Most these actions are done in a subconscious manner. The problem with such an approach is that we do not take care of our eyes when it needs protection. Rather, we wait for the eye to tell our brain that it is hurting before we do something about it. Needless to say, this increases the chances of problems and health issues arising. You cannot allow the eye to suffer damage every single time before you take remedial action.
